Well, I am not a comic fans. Therefore, I felt that the storyline of Robocop was bored. However, I was amazed by the futuristic design in the movie. Besides, I am also happy with the actions without violence.

Lan Jie steamed fish @ Kota Damansara

Fish lovers! It's fish time! Introducing Lan Jie steamed fish!

Lan jie steamed fish is a restaurant that specialized on the steamed tilapia fish. This restaurant is quite unique. They are not allow to reserved seat, but they allow reserved fish to secure your visit are not just a prank. The things that impress me the most is they are a restaurant  which plays with "one person one fish",everyone can enjoy their own fish without sharing.

*you still need to queue up at least 15minutes to enjoy your steamed fish even you have reserved the fish, so please be patient!*

The fish was steamed with finely chopped ginger, garlic, chili padi and taucheo or fermented bean paste. The fish meat was chewy, smooth and juicy, that was a perfect timing steamed fish. There is no mud taste at all in the fish, not even in the stomach, which was quite surprising. The fish was totally fresh, it was delivered lively every morningGet ready to gain some weight when you visit Lan jie because the sauce is so appetizing that it just makes you eat more rice. For the sauce of the fish, you can choose your own level of spiciness, non-spice, spice and hot spice. If you like to challenge your taste bud, you may try the highest level of the spiciness with lots of chilies. I strongly recommend hot spice because I’m a chilies lover! *Don’t try it if you can’t hold the spiciness, it might burn your tongue up*

We also ordered tofu with minced chicken. It was cooked with the green onion, some oyster sauce and also fermented beancard. The tofu was deepfried but it was still soft and smooth, it sat in the sauce with the minced chicken in it. It taste very good. Although it does look quite a big plate of it, but it was just enough for 4 persons.

Besides steamed fish and tofu, we also ordered a plate of fresh leaf lettuce. It was cooked with perfect slices of garlics and also a bit of chili, the chili is the kind of species without spiciness, it will just brings out the sweetness of the leaf lettuce. It taste just fine. Other dishes also included, you may choose from the menu as well. Lan jie steamed fish is totally PORK FREE *yeah!* They do not use any animal oil, so it's safe for everyone to enjoy it.

This shop originally from Rawang, and recently opening a few branches. It’s a good news for  me and for people whom live far away from Rawang, because they do not need purposely travelling down all the way to Rawang just to enjoy fresh steamed tilapia fish. The branch that I have visited is the one that state at Kota Damansara area.

I would went back for the steamed tilapia fish, because it’s leaving a rich aftertaste. You will not able to forget the taste after you have tried it. Trust me, you will regret if you don’t tried it once in your life! So what are you waiting for makan kaki's?

Hong Kong style restaurant - Wok Sifu

Dear all makan kaki,  I had went to Jusco Metro Prima Shopping Centre Kepong for food hunt. This time, I chose a Hong Kong Style Restaurant - Wok Sifu. It seem like a Hong Kong style Restaurant but they also provide others style's food.

(sorry for the blur pic)

Lets we step in to there restaurant.
From the picture, you can see that they have a sofa chairs. Comfortable.

Actually there got two part.
One is for 4 person and one is of more than 4 person.

That time I sat on a place that for more than 4 people. Because more comfortable.
And it also because not much of people on that time.

Their menu.......

Value Set Menu (From Monday to Friday 12pm -3pm & 6pm -9pm) 60% off drinks.

Actually it's just means that choose a main dish from the menu and comes with a selected drink, the drink will be discount 60%. Lowest price from RM 9.50 on wards. Add RM 1 for their mushroom or seafood soup, if you need.

Shang Hai Style Rice with Chicken Fried Diced
RM 10.90

Is look like delicious but it is too salty. You feel good with the started taste. But when you eat for the continue spoon. It was salty. I do not like it so much. It makes me feel like I will get kidney disease soon.

Spaghetti  Shred Ham in Tomato RM11.90

It is recommended by chef as stated at the menu. Can I say they lie? Or the chef did not have cooking level on that day? Their tomato sauce , tasteless and the spaghetti tasteless too. So I just can say that we just eat the spaghetti without sauce.

Butter Diced Chicken Rice RM10.90

This was the dished I like. It fully butter taste with the chicken although their rice was little. I recommend this meal for those gluttonous.

Drink.

Hong Kong Style Yin Yong (鴛鴦)
RM 3.90

It was okay, average drink made of a mixture of coffee and milk tea. I personally do not like to drink coffee. I ordered this Yin Ying because it do not have heavy coffee flavor.

If the full rate is 5. I will give this restaurant 2 only. This is because their dished not so good enough for me and some food salty and some food tasteless and some too little.

Add on, they provided free WIFI.

New Shanghai, Pavillion KL

By Venus Lee

To be honest, I am not a tea-lover but there is this matcha cake my friend kept recommended it to me. In case you don't know what is matcha, matcha is also known as Japanese green tea. I was wondering what was so special about this matcha cake, so my friend decided to bring me there to have our brunch. This restaurant is actually a restaurant with Shanghai dessert theme and also the first ever outlet in Kuala Lumpur. It is located in Pavilion which is a very strategic place in the center point of the city.

The decoration of New Shanghai. The design of the shop is of vintage. As you can see, they are having an open kitchen for the people to have a look into the preparation and making of the dishes.

There are variety choices of tea for the customers as well.

I found this interestingly huge ‘Shou bun' outside the shop. 'Shou' represents long live in Chinese culture. I believe this is a tactic used to attract more customers to dine in.

Tadaaa! This is what my friend craving for! Well, this matcha cake doesn't taste as bad as I expected. The smooth texture mixed well with the strong matcha taste. According to my friend, there is actually a difference between green tea and matcha. Most of the people used matcha to makes dessert because it has a richer aroma and sweeter taste compared to green tea which has a light fragrance.

Besides, I had also tried out the Osmanthus cake with wolfberriers (RM5.80) which I prefer the most among all of them. This is refreshingly chilled which must be a great choice of dessert after you have taken your heavy meal. Sweet tooth people like me will definitely like it too!

Last but not least, not forgetting to try out their 'char siew pau' which is pork free. I recommend it to all the non-Muslims. You will never regret once you have a try on it bacause it is so delicious and mouth-watering. In addition, the freshness of the food sold there is one of the reasons why it has high reputation.

Hokkaido Sushi @ One Utama

by Vikki Tan Hui-Qi

When asked the question that all Malaysians hate the most, “Where do you want to go for lunch?”,  practically in One Utama, the first choice for most of the people who live Petaling Jaya area would be Sushi Zanmai. As for me,  I prefer Hokkaido Sushi, a Japanese restaurant where I need to fulfill my Japanese food cravings at least twice a week!

When it comes to my favourite Japanese food, I am very particular with the taste, presentation and price. In Hokkaido sushi, although it is comparably more expensive than usual Japanese restaurant, you eat what you pay.

Apparently Hokkaido Sushi is owned by the same company that operates Sushi Zanmai and Pasta Zanmai, both are also popular Japanese restaurant in One Utama. However it has lesser crowd compared to the two as the restaurant is placed at underground floor, next to its sister restaurant called Hokkaido Ichiba, a Japanese buffet restaurant.

Like any other Japanese restaurant, Hokkaido Sushi uses conveyor belt as a convenience for the customer to take the dishes they like, shortening the time of the service.

As usual, the first dish I would order is Tamago Mentai. Practically it is just an ordinary Japanese omelet sushi, what makes it my favourite dish is the mentai mayo sauce on top of it. Moreover the price is cheap and reasonable – RM2.80, much cheaper than other dishes in the restaurant.

Being a salmon lover, it is a must to order it no matter which Japanese restaurant I go. Hokkaido Sushi uses fresh and thick salmon meat that can make everyone drool by just looking at it.

If you want something lighter, salmon salad would be a good choice. Just do remember to pour the sesame sauce into the bowl and mix it well with the ingredients!

Another dish I would highly recommend is the salmon head (RM12.90). Despite its big portion, you are also given two options whether to cook it salty or sweet.

As for main dishes, I usually order Cha Soba (RM 7.80), a plate of green-tea-flavoured thin noodle with a bowl of cold dipping sauce/soup.  It is a simple yet refreshing dish. Not forget to mention that it is healthy too!

They also have a variety of side dishes with bigger servings as well as monthly promotion for different categories.

Lastly, among the side dishes I have tried, I personally like Mentaiko Spider Roll a lot. Different from other dishes with soft shell crab, this dish comes with avocado, which enhances the special taste of the sushi.
